webfact
Deputy PM Prajin confirms government’s emphasis on fighting social inequality BANGKOK, 22nd December 2016 (NNT) - The government has confirmed its continuing emphasis on efforts to fight social inequality in Thailand. Deputy Prime Minister ACM Prajin Juntong said on Wednesday that the government has always been determined to solve the problem of inequality, including the issue of farmers with no land ownership, whatever the reason. ACM Prajin’s statement was made in a speech he was delivering to executives of the Farmers Rehabilitation and Development Fund, as well as farmers who attended the opening ceremony of the Fund’s annual event. The DPM said that he has personal admiration for the Fund’s committee and all involved in the ongoing process to solve the debt problems of farmers, while urging all farmers to adopt the Philosophy of a Sufficiency Economy, as proposed by HM the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej and to apply it to their way of life. He added that, in pursuing a sufficiency way of life, one should only take on debt in order to increase earnings, that can then be used to settle debts while managing risks and maintaining a constant flow of earnings, for instance. -- nnt 2016-12-

mtls2005
Amazing they can keep a straight face when telling the masses what they should do: be happy barely getting by, while limiting themselves to just three Mercedes in an effort to remain "Sufficient". A bit preachy. Crops fail. Debts remain. Perhaps some details regarding risk management, rather than speaking in generalities.
klauskunkel
Quote The government has confirmed its continuing emphasis on efforts to fight social inequality in Thailand. a government consisting of millionaire generals, admirals and marshals surely is most credible in such a fight. I mean, how could they possibly lose?

fxe1200
Mr. Deputy PM Prajin should be careful, what he is saying. Lying and publishing these thoughts within the internet could be punished by applying the existent computer crime act and the defamation law. As we have seen with previous and current coups, the military does not support that kind of fight.

arrowsdawdle
What a crock of crap. How preposterous to bald faced lie that the gov has always been determined to solve the problem of inequality. The only positive thing about this statement is the admission of inequality. Sakdina supports Thai culture like the skeletal system supports the anatomy. Look it up. Sakdina prescribes that Thai culture is based on legislated, institutionalized inequality, whereby, the rich and influential take precedence in every aspect of Thai life generally, and their testimony in court proceedings outweighs the word of commoners. Have you not seen how locals duck submissively and avoid eye contact?

Simples ! Might as well. The whole population has largely been part of the military for eight decades considering military chain of command - civilians being treated with the dignity of privates.
