Help Identifying A Wound

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any idea what would cause a wound like this? Our dog came in from the yard tonight and had a nasty little party favor on his face. I am hoping it isn't anything poisonous!

Any ideas?

We cleaned it out and put some betadene on the cut but It looks pretty nasty.

dear... it's not a biten wound ..

It's "Traumatic Pyodermatitis" (hot spot) - bacterial infection

Tx ..

1 shaving around the wound

2 clean the lesion with water

3 apply betadine

4 apply again with Antibiotic+ Steroid (as Unipred)

do it 2 times a day (from step 2-4)

in serious case.. you may feed Antibiotic for your dog also

Thanks Bambina...i was wondering if it was a bite or not.

I'll take him to our vet in the morning and she can care for it properly.

Thanks again!
