PATTAYA: -- The popular Thai nightspot Noir on Pattaya Sai 3 road was raided in the early hours of Sunday morning.

There had been complaints that the pub was opening after hours.

Police and soldiers found 250 revelers still partying at 4am and pulled the plug on the music. Over the next two hours everyone was checked for drug use - 30 patrons exhibited purple results for urine tests indicating drug use. One party goer was found to be under 20 years of age, reported Thairath.

Eight bags of ketamine and two ecstasy tablets were found discarded on the floor when the lights were turned on.

Manager Anusorn Yaichom, 21, was taken to the police station and charged with opening the pub and selling alcohol after hours and admitting minors.

All those testing positive for drug use would also be prosecuted, said Pattaya police.

Those bars are exempt - they are owned by the police.

21 yr old manager eh?  The Thais do a good job of recruiting gophers and bag men and stuckees

Sorry they are being saved for future selective videoing policing.

Are the bars and discos closing earlier or later since military took over?

Depends on who owns the joint.

K is a great pain killer.  The bouncers can beat you up and stab you and you're feeling absolutely none of it...

Pattaya sounds nice ?

Are you saying its corrupt?

Would be interested in knowing if they get shut down, and for how long, if there is a follow-up to this story.
