Can anybody recommend a place to chill out for a few days:

 

- by the seaside

- not too far from Bangkok

- inexpensive?

Prachuap khiri khan. Manow beach. Lovely and relaxed ideal for families. Nice quiet place. Very relaxed. 

Another you could look at which is maybe easier to get to. Mae Phim in rayong a lovely little place too. Can get a bus most way there from bkk to rayong in aprox 3 hours if I recall correctly. Maybe a touch more costly food wise but maybe a bit more variety for western food if you need.
