Horrific accident as Bang Saen water park owner decapitated

SRI RACHA: -- The owner of a Bang Saen water park was decapitated as a mobile crane ploughed into traffic waiting at red lights at a Sri Racha intersection.

 

Theerawan Noppasitporn, 38, was returning home riding his chopper motorcycle when he was dragged under the crane.

 

His wife, following in a car, was knocked unconscious. She came round moments later to realize that her husband was dead.

 

The crane driver is being hunted by police after fleeing the devastation, reports Daily News.

 

The accident happened as several cars and bikes were waiting at a red light at the Mae Kim Buay intersection in Sri Racha, Chonburi. Theerawan was dragged under the crane as he sat waiting on his Keeway Superlight 200.

 

He was found with his head detached from his neck.

 

His wife Patsara Noppasitporn, 40, said she was driving behind in a car after the couple had been on a trip together to Rayong. She was knocked unconscious from the impact and when she came round she saw that her husband was dead.

 

Four other vehicles were damaged and three more people were injured and sent to hospital.

 

Police said that the driver of the crane escaped in the confusion and they are seeking him. They think that the brakes failed on the crane.

 

Daily News reported that Theerawan opened his water park earlier this year and it is in the process of expansion from 4 rai to six rai of land in the Bang Saen area. It is 100% Thai owned, they said.

Still companies and drivers should be held responsible for brake failure. Its comes from lack of maintenance. 

Definitely not the last images you want to remember your husband by. Future nightmares await this poor woman and I'd think she will never be quite the same again.

Avoiding a gathering lynch mob would be reason enough for me to flee, not saying that is the case here though but it is common.

The man was young,in the prime of his life with a flourishing business.i hope the woman takes whoever is responsible to the cleaners.

had one of those fackers nearly take me out about 2 months ago. Was driving down a nice stretch of road that i know very well. It was unihabited bush land and i just started to open the throttle on the bike when one of those cranes came charging out of the bush went across the road and then swung back on the road. They had just started some sort of construction. No signs and no one there to warn or look if traffic was coming. Another one second further down the road and i would've ended up smack in the side of the crane or under it.

A lot of these sort of incidents reported in Thailand.

 

Difficult to drive/ride defensively while stationary at traffic lights/junctions/in queues.

Well typically they get caught so "avoiding responsibility" is short lived.

Indeed, when the realisation hits and there's no out, but I imagine when one is of little brain, one would do the cowardly thing and avoid being collared at all costs hoping it will go away. Sad and pathetic.

One of my dashcam clips reveals that I very nearly ran into the back of a mobile crane on a hill in total darkness without so much as a candle announcing it was there, and going s-l-o-w-l-y!

Must have been horrific for the poor lady.

Another life lost because of lack of maintenance on a truck.

When will the authorities kick their a...es in gear and require routine maintenance on trucks/ buses?

You are not familiar with this intersection. It is under the motorway. There are no pedestrians.

 

In addition, Thais generally freeze rather than assisting in emergency situations. I have witnessed this. Perhaps it is related to living in a society where 'doing the right thng' can lead to negative repercussions.

The condition of brakes in this country is shocking.

"They think that the brakes failed on the crane."    Wow, now the police are making excuses for criminals.  Less work for them I guess

Why are traffic lights too complicated for most of the Asian drivers? It has only 3 colors. 

R.I.P. poor guy. Should be terrible for his wife too....

More likely under the influence of drugs an drink.

Brakes as usual their excuse.

The brakes failed, probably, because Mr Driver forgot to apply the brakes in a timely way.

Only when of the people they care about is killed in that way
