Phetchaburi Province hosts program on eliminating domestic violence

 

PHETCHABURI - 28 December 2016 (NNT) - Phetchaburi Province has hosted a program to integrate agencies in the effort to eliminate domestic violence. 

Permanent Secretary of Phetchaburi Province Krissada Kaewsongmuang chaired the opening of the program which was attended by local officials, advocate groups for women, children, and the elderly, and over 300 members of the public. 

Krissada said that domestic violence takes the form of physical, mental, and sexual abuse with the perpetrators commonly being male family members while victims often are female, the elderly, the disabled, or children.

 

The issue is also commonly seen as a private matter and therefore outside parties are reluctant to extend their help. The provincial social development and human security office has therefore established the program to encourage all sectors to be aware of and understand the importance of preventing domestic violence and to encourage participation in tackling the issue. 

The program features various activities to educate attendees on how to prevent and defuse domestic issues and has promoted the 1300 hotline for assistance on matters related to domestic violence.

Advice is good but domestic violence including rape has to specifically outlawed, alleged offenses investigated and the law enforced for any change to occur but it is a difficult matter owing to the nature of partnerships e.g. where do you draw the line regarding assault.

The idea is very good.

Domestic violence is difficult to control

But at least guys have "hosted a program"
