December 29, 20169 yr My son 14 years old Swedish Citizen is now on his first extension of stay here in Thailand. His stepmother is Thai but i don't think that matters. Do anyone know if his next extension can be based on dependency on myself, his father. It's always a hassle to do it with the school administration and they not do it for free.
December 29, 20169 yr If you are on an extension of stay your son can get one as your dependent that will be the same length as what is remaining on yours. What type of extension do you have?
December 29, 20169 yr Author It's an extension based upon retirement . My extension expires in mid March and his early February. And I will of course extend mine prior to the expiration date. Correct me if I'm wrong, first an extension for my son until mine expire, and in March I a new retirement extension for myself and at the same time an extension for my son as a dependent child. Greatly appreciated and many thanks Joe

You would apply for his extension when it is due and they would do it up to the date yours ends. Then when you do your extension they would do his up to the date your new extension ends. The would mean paying 1900 baht twice. Immigration will likely want his birth certificate legalized/certified. Not sure how the Swedish embassy does or will do it.
December 29, 20169 yr Author Hello. I got a paternity certificate from the Swedish Consulate here in Pattaya, birth certificates was abolished in Sweden 45 years ago as of now everything is controlled by the Swedish Tax Administration (IRS) , do you think this document will do it ? Happy new Year / Stefan
December 29, 20169 yr After reading Ubonjoes answer I will totally agree. I am a swedish citizen, and the embassy will just put a stamp as insurrance for the authenticity of the documents. To spetersen: We probably all know what means with a birth certificate. Even swedish people know what that means in todays modern world, even if it just changed a little bit.
