Can 90 day reports limited to Bangkok only?

Featured Replies

The extranet for Immigration has been down for a while with no reason to believe it will be functioning when I need to submit my next 90 day report. I'm living upcountry these days and it would require a few hours for me to drive back and forth to my (not so) local Burirum immigration office to make this report in person. I sure do wish that I had the option of using the mail instead. Unfortunately, I somehow remember that 90 day reporting by mail used to be only available in Bangkok. Does anyone know if it is now possible to report by mail in Burirum?

Thanks.

All offices should accept 90 day reports by mail but there are a few that don't. Bangkok immigration will only accept reports from those living in Bangkok.

I am not aware if Buriram immigration will accept them or not.

Better do it soon - no postal service after tomorrow for X days.

Use EMS and keep the receipt.

Here's a follow-up : I called the 24 hour information hotline and was told that I could do the 90 day report to Burirum by mail. The fellow didn't sound super- confident, though, so I had someone else call again the next day. She got a different person and they confirmed that it could be done by mail and gave the address. Today I called the Burirum office directly and they said the report could definately NOT be sent to Burirum by mail. All reports would be handled in person only (and they don't use an appointment system at that office). Thanks to all who answered.

Where is the useless information from Buriram in the post? They have said no so you can either accept that and do it personally or post it in and hope that it works.

I live in rural Khampaeng Phet and until the new office opened last month I had to drive 125 km each way. Now I only have to drive 65 km each way as the office won't accept a postal application AFAIK.

It is just something that I find easy to live with 4 times a year.

I suspect that the point which kannot was intending to highlight was the contradictory information provided to the OP by the info hotline on the one hand and the Buriram office on the other, as he reported in post #4. A classic case of TIT IMHO!

Who knows, if the OP were to call the Buriram office again on Wednesday and speak to the same officer, he/she may well inform him that they do, after all, accept mailed-in reports - which would, of course, lead one to conclude that he/she got out of bed on Wednesday on the other side to the one which he/she got out of on the day when the OP spoke to him/her originally!

TIT inconsistency of this sort  is the major reason why I personally consider it a complete waste of time to double-check immigration procedures and simply go with what I did last time.
