geovalin
A businessman has been sentenced to eight years in a Cambodian jail for fraud and other crimes after he tried to set up a biofuel plantation. Gregg Fryett, from Devon, has made more than 100 court appearances in the past three years. Now he and three of his business associates – two Cambodian-Americans Um Sam Ang and Soeun Denny, and a Cambodian Ouk Keo Ratanak – have been handed five- to eight-year prison sentences at the Municipal Court in Phnom Penh, the capital. Mr Fryett received an eight-year sentence and a fine of 10 million riel, or about £2,000. His firm, International Green Energy, which employed the other three arrested defendants, was fined 100 million riel, or about £20,000, the English-language Cambodia Daily reported. Mr Fryett, from Torquay, told the WMN via social media: “Prison is hard for many reasons, not least of all by being away from family and friends. Physically it's also hard. Prisons around the world are overcrowded and Cambodia is no different. It's basically camping." 12DrinkMore
No sympathy. His company has defrauded a load of guys out of their savings. Quote Around 2,000 investors, many of them British pensioners, are understood to have poured up to £50,000 each into Sustainable AgroEnergy Plc. Three of Mr Fryett's associates have been jailed in Britain on charges of fraud and bribery after an investigation by the Serious Fraud Office. His company was found guilty in UK as well by SFO…3 in jail. Defrauding pensioners should be stamped on heavily….but those in UK didn;t get 8 years. 2 hours ago, 12DrinkMore said:

oldsailor35
I don't get it ! He claims that he was set up and is innocent also 3 prosecutors also claim that he is innocent, however that could mean that they got their Brown envelopes before the cash ran out . The ripped off pensioners in the UK will know whether he is innocent or not. And what has happened to the land that they bought and all the trees they claim to have planted.
