January 2, 20179 yr Pakistan has highest per capita income in association of southasian countries.since 1995,when Thailand has ceased to issue visa on arrival for Pakistanis;it has become Rich many folds.Thailand is losing its tourism and investment to uae, where Pakistanis are second biggest tourists and investors.its amazing that Thailand is providing visa on arrival for India, srilanka,Maldives and not maldives, where biggest building in region lies.Thailand can do it at least for tourist months from December to march for people holding return tickets, hotel reservations and $5000 in cash. Took me 3 trips to Soi Nana as the Embassy demands far more documents than they list on their website. My 5 day visa cost something like THB6000. And you can't pay that at the Embassy. Have to go to a specific bank branch and come back with the deposit slip. If you're not a Thai citizen, you can't even apply unless you have PR or a WP.

January 3, 20179 yr OP, I checked and according to the IMF statistics for 2015 the GDP per capita was, in USD: Maldives 8,969 SriLanka 3,849 India 1,604 Pakistan 1,428 (for reference, Thailand 5,742) so your statements that "Pakistan has highest per capita income in association of southasian countries" and that "its amazing that Thailand is providing visa on arrival for India, srilanka,Maldives" are maybe not well justified. By the way, also I don't find that Sri Lanka has visa on arrival or visa exempt status in Thailand. No doubt there must be many Pakistanis who are rich enough, even richer than the average visa-exempt nationals. However the criteria to make it easy or hard for a certain nationality to obtain a visa for another country depends not just on the economics, but also on other factors e.g. reciprocity. Perhaps, as some other already pointed out, Pakistan makes it hard for other nations, including for Thailand.
