One Font For Bkk And Chaing Mai ?

Hi all, i am visitng BKK and CM in Feb-Mar and would like to make up a laminated card to give to Massage professionals explaining in brief an injury to my back so they don't go beserk and make it worse. I have a badly damaged spine from a m/bike crash in 1998. ( dam harley boat anchors). I get a massage every week here in Aussie, as this is all i can afford. But in LOS, i hope to get a rub daily. I am fearful that the language barrier might put myself in harms way from not understanding my injury. I was thinking that it would be good to get this laminated card made up, asking politely to " take it easy" . So, i was wondering if i had to make anymore than 1 card if i was staying in BKK and Chiang Mai.

Also, do you think this is a tosser of an idea?

If you are being generous, then would you also refer me to someone who could translate this for me?

Many Thanks,

Wazza

Just my two cents, but with that type of injury you might be best off avoiding Thai style massage altogether and go for a less brutal oil massage.

It doesn't sound like your back is up to much bending and breaking.

Traditional massage involves some exercises which may be harmful, and you have no way of knowing the credentials of the masseuse - a diploma/cerficicate is easily faked.

Thanks for the input Meadish_Sweetball. I will take that on board and go for the "oily" . When looking for this type of massage, what do i ask for? is there a name for it?

You can just say 'oil massage' and it will be understood. Thais say 'oy' (no final 'l' sound).

As for a message to carry with you, perhaps Bambina has the time to help you a little? She knows the right words to use I think.
