SidJames
Can I bring a small sample of granite in my hand luggage? A piece about 10cm x 10 cm. I can't find any into the airport website other than the usual no gels, liquids, dangerous items etc...
Crossy
That may be seen as a potential weapon, particularly if it is rock shaped (rather than a core), I would put it in checked if at all possible. With the idiots (not just Thai) that provide airport security (lowest bidder) I wouldn't leave anything to chance.
SaintLouisBlues
Wouldn't it be easier to ask the airline?

jpinx
I've been prevented from taking a one-piece flute on as hand luggage because it is about 450 long and weights maybe 500g. They said it was a potential weapon. A lump of granite will almost be classified the same way. Put it in your hold luggage and avoid the hassle.
