Car Electrical Shop

Can anyone recommend a car electrical shop?

The engine electronics seem ok but our cd/dvd player unit flickers and when we use the horn its a weak sound and sometimes does not work and the turn signals have a very weak sound when you turn them on but the turn signal light on the dash does flicker when you turn them on, its just the nose is very low.

Thanks for any recommendations

Thai speakers can get electrical problems sorted out at Daeng Kong Pratu also. You can also buy alarms, etc. from them. Cost less than Amnuay but the wait could be a couple of hours and no waiting room. Just stand outside and wait.

If you don't speak Thai then stick with Amnuay and hope that the owners wife is there. She is the only English speaker there - or she used to be.

Yes but

Dang Kong Pratu 2 near Airport Plaza has a waiting room with a coffee shop inside, at least it has for years and did a few days ago.

Also, Dang speaks English well but you have to catch him as he spends time at both locations, perhaps if he is not at the one you visit sometimes they can get him on the phone to talk with you and his workers to get you sorted.

Finally, I am not sure the wait will be longer at Dang's, it depends on how busy they are.  Often I am in and out in a very short time but as stated it could be longer.

Really? Never noticed it.

And out of curiosity, where is the other location? Thanks.

Yes really, drive in and the offices/shops are on the left, on the right is a large high doored building with the ac wait area/coffee shop on the left side of it.

Original shop: going down Chiangklan Rd just a bit past Pantip Plaza take the fork to the right going past Georgios straight to the first light, there turn right and go down about 60 meters, you will see it on the right.  If you get to the rise and bridge over the stinky klong you have gone 20 meters too far.

Where is  Dang Kong Pratu 2 near Airport Plaza?   Can you show where it is on the map or give landmarks?  Thanks

Drive down Mahidol Rd from the river toward Airport Plaza in the left lane,  about 100 meters before the flyover there is a red Ricoh sign on the left, turn into the driveway just before the sign and you will see DKP on the left, 20 meters in.  DKP also has a large sign there but it may be in Thai.

Or you can go to the original shop which I have already given directions to and they will provide you a map, ask to speak to Dang or his daughter Jeap who speak English.

Yeah you might be best to go see Jeap as she's always on site at the first shop.
BTW isn't it Dang Som Pratu....Dang fix doors?....doors being the original speciality.
There was a specialist car electrical place off Wualai, the road that angles off to the right as you enter Wualai from the south near the second hand American shirt shops. Not far down on the right. Can't say if it's still there

No, I think it is Dang Klon Pratu, the klon or however it might be spelled in English means lock and vehicle door locks were the original speciality of his shop in the '80s.  Haven't you seen him peering into a lock with one of those lights with a curved cone tip that Doctors use to look into ears?
