Obviously you know you are not going to default on a loan, but you are the only one.

No business in Thailand, no tax returns no work permit why should you get a loan,,,? just pay cash!!!

The powers that be here who you call stupid are a bloody site smarter than you are    stupid

What you think?  So some guy from Argentina walks into a car shop in California and wants credit to buy a car? No way.

Sounds like a very good business decision.

The guy has a couple of million rai large soja farm and brought some hundred thousand of dollars illegally out of his country, so why not?

The "Thai Supremacists" are in fine form this afternoon with their feckless arguments and defense of obviously racist policies aimed at people who have a good bit more income than most of the Thai riff raff who get loans every day. The only analogous situation in the USA would be an extremely well-heeled retiree from Canada, with easily documented income and a long work history in his home country. My fiancee's judgement on the situation is "Thai people very jealous of farang". Her policeman brother agrees. Both are college graduates. I defer to Thai people to know their own, although cursory observation generally tells the story. The delusional Thai self-image does not hold up very well under independent examination. Hated by Laotians, Cambodians, Vietnamese and Burmese, yet fiercely sure of their own superiority.

Not at all it appears we have numerous stupid farangs on here who dont even understand basic financial protocols as regards assessing somebody for a loan

Lets summarise a typical farang

1. Foreign income

2. No credit history or score in Thailand

3. No "legal" status in Thailand

4. not in the tax system

5. Flight risk

Based on this i wouldnt be loaning money to a person either

You did an exceptional job in describing me..... But still I got a loan ...on my own....with only the car as collateral:shock1:

You want me to go through every frickin' step? Of course I had to submit documents, but nothing out of the ordinary. Signed my name probably 15 times. Considering it's Thailand--still, no problem.

The point was, 1) as a foreigner, I could get a credit card, and 2) no collateral or an untouchable deposit account required.

He can probably get one here in Pattaya at BMW.  Sure, come here and buy a 2 to 3 million b car and sit in traffic all day.

Buying a car here seems so stupid. Way over priced and the repairs/maintenance are US prices.  I bet if you figured the cost, it would be cheaper to hire a taxi everyday.

Stop howling racism and discrimination when there is none

And do Thais have credit history checks? Give over. They get a new motorcycle. 6 months down the road it gets repossessed. They just go down the road and get another on credit with a different loan company.

And Thais are taught to be racist. The words to the Thai anthem confirms it. 'Thailand is for Thais'. Can you imagine a western country having, lets say Germany, the words 'Germany is for Germans' in their anthem? dnftt.gif

As you're so well off why don't you walk into the dealers and pay cash for your car. That's what I did 2.5 years ago when I bought my brand new Mitsubishi Triton. I didn't have a WP either as I'm retired, all I needed was the residency certificate from immigration.

The easiest way. I did the same thing with Toyota when I first arrived in 2003 but with a letter from the British Embassy.

You serious?  How stupid truly.

Look at the incoming President in the USA and their anthem. Most anthems are about the countries they represent.

Trump hates everyone from some place else and he won.  What that tell you?

Yes I'm serious. Thais are racist. Go to any national park and see if you get charged the same entry fee as a Thai.

How do you know Trump hates everyone? Did he tell you? Is it quoted he said that any where?  cheesyrdn2.gif Some people are bad losers.:saai:

It's even worse at the airport where foreigners have to pay for a limited visa while those pesky Thais just waltz straight in free of charge and stay as long as they want!!!!

^ You need to read this.

Quote

When the beach chair attendant, who kicked sand at a tourist sitting on the ground, was discovered to be a migrant worker from Cambodia, many Thais were relieved, believing that “a Thai would never do that”. But no one bothered to ask whether his boss was a Thai and what pressure was put on this worker to try to make sure that everyone paid to sit on the beach chairs.

It is common to hear many Thais referring to something which is stupid as being “Lao”.

Most Thais refer to anyone who looks Malay, Indian, Turkish or Arabic as “Kaak”. This is no different from Anglo-Saxon racists referring to “Wops”, “Spiks” or “Dagos”. The highly offensive word “Kaak” is also used to belittle the Muslim Malays of Patani, thus increasing their oppression.

A lot of Thais refer to black people of African origin as “Aye Murd”, the equivalent of “black bastard” or even the “Nigger”. The word even appeared in a public statement by a pro-democracy academic.

All Thais refer to white people as “Farangs”, a derogatory word equivalent to the use of the term “white devils” by Chinese racists. The term is used by academics. It depicts difference. “We are Thais”, they say and think proudly. But they are Farangs. And of course all Farangs think alike because democracy is a Farang concept. There is no recognition that there are right-wing and left-wing westerners. And of course, Farangs cannot possibly understand Thailand.

Until recently many Thais, including those of Chinese ancestry (which they covered up in the past), used the term “Jek” to refer to Chinese people. Today they refer to Vietnamese people by the offensive term “Yuan”. Japanese people are called “Aye Yun”.

It is common to see official posters in the streets telling people that illegal migrant workers bring in diseases and crime. There is no outrage at this racism.

When challenged on this continuous racism, most will deny that they are racist; some will say it is the “Thai way”. Intellectuals will say that to discuss these things is just “political correctness”. But the real political correctness is the enforced grovelling to the elites, calling them “Tan” and using royal language for the royal family.

All this is the result of the constant socialisation of Thais by the ruling elites which reinforces jingoism every morning and night when the national anthem is played. Thai is best and everyone else is foreign and inferior, is the message. It is also a sign of the weakness of a progressive Left.

interestingly every language i am familiar with has derogatory racial terms as well.

cataloging the terms does not mean that they are the sole reference. not by a long shot.

Well it would be wouldn't it. Take the rose coloured spectacles off.

Falang is a generic Thai word for someone of European ancestry, nothing more nothing less, the fact you think it means 'white devil' just confirms you as paranoid with a few large dollops of persecution complex.

Hmmm  just throw this one out too, if you have the required 800K in the bank, can you apply for a credit card without a work permit, provided you have a non-B visa or whatever it is that shows you are married to a Thai?

How many left there own country owing money, cards maxed out, loans, i know of a couple of people did this in the uk,

then they want to come here and get another loan,

never be a lender or a borrower,

i agree with another poster, the op made a point of telling he has a business outside thailand, so i would say buy it cash,

Wow what a load of absolute drivel and rambling about absolutely nothing, if you so unhappy in Thailand and dispise the Thais so much what you still doing here, maybe the " Land O free" (trade mark) is better for you....yes your hookers maybe a bit more expensive for you, but at least you will be happy amongst your own kind

If you had 800k in the bank one presumes your on a retirement extension

A B visa is for Business or work

Bring married to a thai is irrelevant in obtaining a credit in your own name

You can apply for a credit card, anytime you want, question is whether will approve you or not
