Quick question. I am planning to bring over one of my spare bikes on Thai Air this year, as part of luggage allowance, but as an alternative wondered if I would be able to get anything for around 10,000 baht? Used of course.

Something like a fast hybrid with tiagra or 105 would do. Any chance or just stick to the bike in a box idea and bring one from the UK?

Thanks

Plenty of choices around second hand just sold an Haro 29er in great condtion for 8K and bought a new Giant 29er escape 2 from Good Bikes Khon Kaen for 11500 baht ,delivered within 24 hours of payment to Pattaya which I am highly delighted with

I definitely want more of a road bike/ gravel bike for roads in and around Phrae. Seems like there are better bargains back here in the UK though so bike in a box is looking good.

You can occasionally find a bargain priced used road bike, especially on lower priced bikes, but then it still has to fit. Do you want to sit around hoping the bargain in your size will show up or do you want to be out riding?

If you don't need a fancy brand name there are plenty of new bikes for 10k.

That is an excellent link, I half expected a list of Chinese cheap and cheerful junk and

First thing I looked at was an Haro flightline 24 for 6500 Baht  what a great deal!

N210np: I apologise if you were just having a laugh; this is a Kid's bike with low, low, low spec. Cheap and cheerful, probably out of the Haro/Kenstone factory near Shanghai. Yes, China.

Hoping I'm not being elitist, but the OP wanted something fast road/gravel with Tiagra/ 105... that would be a completely different animal.  At Bt 10K something might come up second hand online, but I agree with El Jefe; its better to be out riding.

Ourmanflint; bringing out something of your own seems a no brainer - check out some previous posts regarding the topic.
