geovalin
Cambodia and Vietnam are to study the possible construction of an expressway linking Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh City. The project was discussed in talks on Wednesday in Hanoi between Cambodian Public Works and Transport Minister Sun Chanthol and Truong Quang Nghia, Vietnam’s Minister of Transport. A post on the Public Works Ministry’s Facebook page on Wednesday said both ministers took note of their cooperation on the feasibility study. The expressway would stretch from Phnom Penh to the border crossing at Bavet and Ho Chi Minh City. Mr. Chanthol said improved cooperation included opening more border gates to improve links between the countries, and the new expressway could carry up to $5 billion worth of trade a year and increase the number of tourists for both countries. “Minister Quang Nghia expressed his country’s strong commitment to continue to assist Cambodia in infrastructure development and improved connectivity,” the post said. Mr. Quang Nghia said further cooperation was important for the establishment and improvement of border crossing gates, studies and construction of the expressway and working groups on inland waterways and maritime transport. read more http://www.khmertimeskh.com/news/34259/expressway-to-vietnam-on-cards/ -- © Copyright Khmer Times 13/

The laws make it even more tedious than Thailand. The Chinese have already bought in Cambodia. Vietnam is also a difficult country when it comes to getting your money back out again. Even though they have recently made it easier for foreigners to buy condos, there are some major doubts about how to get your cash out of the country. humqdpf
The last thing that was a problem when travelling between Phnom Penh and Saigon was the length of time it took to actually drive. It was the amount of time it took to get across the border that was the huge delay.
