I am part of a 15 member Thai Association which is a lot like a charity. What will the Thai government say if we ask for a 1 year visa for the only farang that is part of the association? Im not working and getting money, just helping them. I cant find anything on this. Anyone know?

You would get approved if you had a work permit. You should have one!
