I am a Canadian citizen and thought I had all of the required documents such as translated and certified marriage affidavid but my amphur is now requiring a translated passport.

I believe they then want the passport translation certified by the MFA.

Is this requirement normal? Should I just try a different amphur?

Thanks

I assume they are wanting your passport photo page translate to register your marriage. That is not a normal requirement since the affirmation of permit to marry translation has all the same info on it.

Try at another Amphoe.

I don't think you apply for visa at an Amphoe. Best to read the OP instead of only the topic title.

Yes you are correct of course, but still hard to be a mind-reader

If I had to guess you are dealing with the Ampur in Lamlukka. I had the same issue at Lamlukka. They wanted the photo page translated even though all the information from my passport was on the translation for my affirmation of freedom to marry. I suggest you go to the Laksi Ampur where I ended up going and had no problem.
