Hun Sen joins Davos elites

Featured Replies

Prime Minister Hun Sen will join top leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinping, CEOs and top bankers at the four-day World Economic Forum (WEF) in the Swiss resort of Davos, which begins today. According to a Ministry of Foreign Affairs press release, Mr. Hun Sen’s WEF delegation includes Minister of Commerce Pan Sorasak, Minister of Economy and Finance Aun Pornmoniroth, Minister of Public Works Sun Chantol, and high-ranking officials from the three ministries.

“As Cambodia will host the World Economic Forum on Asean this year,  Samdech Techo Hun Sen will seize the opportunity at the WEF to showcase Asean and promote Cambodia at a special session titled ‘Cambodia: The rising star of Asean’,” stated the press release. “A short video presentation on Cambodia’s preparation for the World Economic Forum of Asean will also be introduced,” it added.

More than 1,500 top business leaders and CEOs, and over 40 heads of state will attend the January 17 to January 20 WEF meeting to network and discuss big economic themes. Despite the optimism of the global economy, there is anxiety due to the uncertainty surrounding Donald Trump who will be sworn in as the new US president on the last day of the WEF.

ThaiVisa, c'est aussi en français

ThaiVisa, it's also in French

One dictator more or less will mean little difference as they decide how to shove it to the poor even more world wide. The passivity of people today really amazes me. The protesters should be all over these clowns.

Davos and the WEF is the biggest self-important douche-fest in the world. The fact that this  world class criminal is there just typifies what the whole WEF is about. A money grab by the elites and stick it to everyone else.

I'm the farthest thing from a bleeding heart liberal. But having Hun Sen at this just highlights how ridiculous the whole event has become. Kind of makes me glad Trump is taking over soon - he seems to have no use for these type events.

I am envious I wish I had thought of that phrase.
