PHUKET:-- Phuket International Airport is now ‘fully equipped’ in terms of personnel and equipment to handle arriving and departing passengers, the Immigration Commissioner announced on Tuesday.

He added that officials have "done their best" to reduce long queues and make immigration service faster. 

Long lines, delays, non-existent essential equipment, a lack of personnel and "confused travellers" all marred the opening days of the Phuket International Airport’s new terminal.

Mmm, that must be why two friends departing Phuket a few days ago back to UK paid 300Baht each for 'express immigration' as the normal cues were that long... they was worried they would miss their flight, - Goodbye and please hurry back to Phuket with your tourist money!
