PM says reform, reconciliation require public participation

BANGKOK, 23 January 2017 (NNT) – Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has asked all sides to take part in national reform and reconciliation for the maximum benefit of the whole population.

Speaking on behalf of the prime minister, government spokesperson Lt Gen Sunsern Kaewkumnerd said all sectors of society must cooperate in the reform process and reconciliation efforts, if Thailand is to attain stability, prosperity, and sustainability.

When asked about scholars and politicians’ criticisms that the reform roadmap is a risk for the government, the spokesperson responded that national reform is Thailand’s hope and salvation, and that everyone must lend a helping hand for a better future.

Lt Gen Sunsern noted that the government is waging war on corruption and has made the issue its top priority as evident by the improvement in the Corruption Situation Index which stood at 55 last December, the highest score in 6 years. The survey was conducted by the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC).

Lie, lie, lie, lie, lie .... Blah, blah, blah, blah .... B.S., B.S., B.S., B.S. ... double-speak, double-speak, double-speak, double-speak ....

On and on and on it goes. The very air and atmosphere threaten to break and crack under the weight of their lies and duplicity ....

Public participation? They don't mean something like voting for a political program during an election, do they?

Who do they think is listening to - forget believing - this drivel?

That "public participation" in drafting yet another Constitution worked well, didn't it?

They don't really want public participation. That is BS because they can't stand criticism. Real public participation would mean the people disagreeing with them, questioning the junta etc, and that is not allowed.

The telling words " must cooperate " obviously in 'reforms' that only suit a few.

And still the people have no idea how they are being manipulated. Frankly, the elites are winning this game so effortlessly, they deserve to be in control.

I could name a few people who both listen and believe, but my post would vanish...

The people did participate in elections which were cast aside with the threat of violence.  Now they must reconcile or else !

Public participation?

"You vil accept it und you vil like it."

The little general..."You are free to vote for whoever I like."

"Everyone's entitled to an opinion - preferably mine"

The people did participate in elections which were cast aside with the threat of violence.  Now they must reconcile or else !

The public must reconcile themselves to indefinite rule by the military and their cronies.

Yes of course reconciliation They will be taken in by the military and given "attitude adjustment" Once this has been done with everyone then there will be elections

If these juntas hadn't interfered since 1932 this country would have the semblance of a functioning democracy by now and these 'reforms' wouldn't be needed.

Show us your road map lol. You can't cause it is non existent. You had no reform targets. Now your deflecting your failure to others. What a leader. A stage show.  By the way the costumes are outstanding.

juntas and public participation just don't go together, don't they? public manipulation, perhaps. public participation, no.
