Featured Replies

Hello, guys I'm on the way to poi pet in car to do an in out job 30 day tourist stamp same day, I am wondering what's the latest I can do this, I read its open till 8 does that mean they will let me in and back into Thailand providing its before 8 or am I going to have to stay in poi pet, hoping to arrive about 4 or 4:30 , excuse my ignorance I'm on the way and don't have much time to search out, thanks in advance

Lost of changes at Poipet lately.

Do a search on TV.

Let us all know how it goes.

Have you had any in/outs before and where?

You should not have a problem arriving at 4 or 4:30.

Have you had any recent border hops for a visa exempt entry.

up to 10pm.

Really would like the OP to come back and post again on this one.

I did sometimes do a 90 day run on my multi, maybe once a year, and would love to know the latest on what's happening. Usually have a weekend away but sometimes SWMBO's work meant doing a run.

The OP was asking about a visa exempt entry at Poi Pet not an entry with a valid visa,

If you have a multiple entry visa of some kind it may not be good crossing to do it. They have been making a problem for people doing it. Best to avoid Poi Pet for any type of crossing.

That's true OBJ but was just interested in anything he would post about his experience. ?

Ryan,

How did things go?

Sorry mate its been a busy one moving with my lad etc.

I would say all in all, if you have a car it actually worked out better, I arrived much later (5:30pm) by the time I have parked up and what not. It was alot calmer and I was in and back out within 15min`s max I mean opposed to slighty earlier in the day, I did have a photo and a decent pen handly like. in terms of the drive itself it was not too bad and quiite rapid. To be honest mate I wonder why I once sat on one of those mini busses outside of sukhunvit at 5am with all the piss heads and shit drivers lol, I would probably not attempt it on a motorbike though.

Thanks for the replies guys, by the way I noticed a few paper signs stating about the 2 'tourist' stamps per calander year, so that would mean it would be impossible at this point to be in breach of that if that makes sense and resets in 01/01/18 but they seem to want to warn everyone which if fair play as you can always just leave for a day and buy a visa in car fairly easily plus youu have the 1900 extension (in BKK) so really your getting 4 months a year, sure most of you already know this anyway but it is a bit confusing.

Anyone doing it, just keep driving as close as you can to the border. Park your car in the 'At Border Hotel' as close to the doors as possible (the car parks massive), I think it was 50 but dont quote me, anyway once parked walk about 20 meters over the road, to your lef and cross the road, many not official but official looking people will ask you if you want a visa, and everyone does tbh, just dont even look at them, avoid talking to anyone and just keep walking following the signs, you either hit immagration thai or cambodian immagration which was a tent with 2 guys and a girl sat down who are all safe and official, I paid sligly extra for not having to even walk becuase I am a lazy bar stool. Once you have have given them your cash and they have returned with your cambodian visa you simply cross the road and walk back into thailand not stopping for anyone except to fill in your arrival forms and wait in line.

I have done it a million times before by bus but by car its faster and better just go late its open untill 22:00, I did stay in Aranyaprath

Cheers

Usually I've gone by car and only once by minibus with the driver from hell. Never again, reckon I would prefer overstay. ?

I wonder if they are still refusing in/out on multi 0's.
