Chilean visa 90 days multi entries issues

Featured Replies

Hello

What are the requirements for chilean citizens?
In the chilean consulate website says:
  • Holders of valid Chilean passports are exempt from visa to enter Thailand for tourist purposes for a term of up to 90 days, without restrictions for new income to the country.
  • Valid Thai passport holders are exempt from a visa to enter Chile for tourist purposes for up to 90 days, with no restrictions on new income for the country.

But everytime I want to come back to Thailand in immigration they say we have restricted entries (2 a year)

Please , can i have a clear information about it because i was expulsed to come back to Thailand by land few days ago.

    Regards

    Luis

There have been several reports of immigration restricting 90 day visa exempt entries at land border crossings. Less so if flying into the country.

I can give no explanation other than that people from some countries that get them have abused the privilege of being allowed them by getting them back to back to live here.

They have restricted the number of entries allowed for the those that get the standard 30 day visa exempt entry to 2 a calendar year at land border crossings.

The new "2 visa-exempts by land" rule affects many foreign-nationals.  You might be allowed to enter by air visa-exempt, but I would recommend getting a Thai Tourist Visa at a consulate.  Entries by Tourist Visa are not currently restricted, provided you have 20K Baht worth of cash or travelers checks to show upon entry.

What country are you in now?  Let us know and we can tell you what that consulate has been reported to request in order to issue a Tourist Visa.  Some consulates require showing a bank-statement (not cash) and/or a hotel-booking or rental-contract and/or a flight out of Thailand

It only applies to those under the visa exempt scheme. He gets his entries from a bilateral agreement.

Yes, but it would appear that, because it is an "exempt" being offered under that bilateral scheme, they are applying the same rules.  It could also be the case that the IO is incorrect.

They are allowing others on bilateral agreements that get 15 day and 30 day visa exempt unlimited entries.

For some time now immigration has been restricting those that get 90 day entries because those with one particular nationality abused the privilege.
