BANGKOK: -- A senior Thai commerce official on an official trip to Japan for intellectual property rights discussion was arrested for alleged stealing paintings in the hotel.

Commerce official arrested in Japab for stealing hotel paintings

While the stolen paintings have not been identified, 'The Great Wave off Kanagawa' by 19th century artist Hokusai must be in a few Kyoto hotel halls.

 

BANGKOK — A senior official from the Ministry of Commerce was arrested in Japan for stealing three paintings from the hotel where he was staying on a business trip, a ministry secretary said Wednesday.

SYDNEY (Reuters) - The United States will send extra military aircraft to Australia's tropical north this year, a U.S. Marine Corps spokesman said on Wednesday, bolstering its military presence close to the disputed South China Sea.
