BANGKOK: -- Thailand targets to welcome over 257,000 Chinese tourists arriving in the country during the Chinese New Year festival with expectation that more than 12 billion baht in revenues will be earned from them.

This was disclosed by Tourism and Sports Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul yesterday.

She said during the 9-day period of the Chinese New Year festival from January 27-February 4, the ministry expects over 257,000 Chinese tourist arrivals in Thailand, an increase of 10.87 per cent from last year.

She said an income of 12 billion baht or an increase of 13.09 per cent year-on-year was expected to be generated from these tourists.

555 You don't know TAT if it was close to 800 k they will make it 1 million, but even for them the gap between 257 k and 800 k is big.

Yes. Last week they said in excess of 800,000. Where have the rest gone?

Are they all wealthy Chinese? If not not so welcome na

How can you tell if the tourists are from China or not? Here's a pictorial guide.

And if we post a pictorial guide of what tourists from the west would look like we'd get our TV accounts removed for nudity and lack of morals?

And every single one will stop right in front of the escalator, or BTS entry gate, pondering God knows what.

Interesting overhearing Thai people b*tch about them in public, in Thai.
