How many extention on a 30 day visa

Featured Replies

Hi,  I've heard I can get 2 extensions, is this from 1 30 day visa or is it 2 times per year? Plus can I do 2 or 3 visa runs in 1 year, are they allowed back to back? I've searched forums but things change so fast..... can anyone shed any light?

Thanks

I assume you mean a 30 day visa exempt entry.

You can only apply for one 30 day extension per entry.

At land border crossings you are only allowed 2 visa exempt entries per calendar year.

You could do more of them by flying out and back for a new entry.

Best to get a single entry tourist visa at a nearby embassy or consulate that would allow a 60 day entry that can be extended for 30 days . At this time they are free until February 28th.

as the rules of now ,you can extend your 30 day exempt visa for a further 30 days at a cost of 1900 bhat

You can do 2 LAND crossing per year and get 30 day visa exempt and again you can extend this for 30 days 1900 bhat

you can go to a Thai consulate out within Thailand and apply for a Tourist Visa this will give you 60 days and you can extend this for 30 days but you will have to check what paperwork is required ,it all depends what Consulate/Embassy you go to as some are easy and some follow the rules ,and again it depends on what one you go to as some will give you 3 some will give you 2 just depends on the one you visit but as I said there is rules to follow.
