So six of the eleven 'dropped' channels were dropped at the end of last year, but "Ms Supinya said that committee had not yet allowed True Visions to stop airing the 11 channels"?  She must have missed that six have already been dropped?

True are now saying they are going to drop another five channels?

Now true are saying that they drop another 11 channels, in addition to the 6 they dropped end last year.

But of the 11 channels mentioned, many were dropped at the end of last year - so it seems unlikely they're talking about another 11 channels?

Last year True drop these 6 channels : HBO, Cinemax HBO, HBO Family, HBO Signature, HBO Hits, Red by HBO and Cinemax,

Do you see any of them in the list of 11 posted higher up in the thread?

No they are dropping 17 channels in total

No they are dropping 17 channels in total

Off the top of my head, they also dropped BBC Entertainment, Cbeebies and Eve previously -  which were included amongst the 11 'new' dropped channels in the OP.

I'm not arguing about this, just interested to find out whether yet another 11 new channels are genuinely about to be dropped by True!

Edit - and if so, precisely which channels (that haven't already been dropped) are about to follow the same route....

Doesn't happen only in Thailand.

In the UK, Sky TV drops the same 9 channels from their menu starting February 1st.

The only one who never drops these channels is Kodi

Send me a PM if you want to continue watching them.

Oh, and then they are FREE

Theres a banner going across the screen they are keeping those channels, SKY that is not TRUE,

just install Mobdro on Android and you can watch all the channels that TRUE has canceled for

free.regards Worgeordie

6 years ago i drop true to finding everything i need and watch online these days was a wise move by me and of course  saving a lot of money on this piss poor service they offer in Thailand ..  if i was anybody i would tell you to invest on a high end  internet package and forget these rogues..

TRUE does not have the knowledge to even show those channels in correct format.

Maybe this will give room for someone serious to offer those channels. I got fed up

with TRUE 2 years ago, went online and slapped myself for not doing that earlier...

But all of those channels were already dropped, why the announcement now?

I am watching Nat Geo now, they have not been dropped yet.

"...Supinya Klangnarong, a member of the NBTC, revealed via her twitter account that the Broadcasting Committee received a request from True Visions that the company wanted to discontinue 11 channels..."

As others have noted above, TrueVisions deserve to be well and truly castigated for the rationalisation of their services.

But, one also has to question the "professional" ethics of Ms Klangnarong - a member of the NBTC leaking arguably-damaging information via Twitter. She may well be the chairperson of the NBTC's subcommittee on consumer protection right, but this is not the way to do things given the potential damage her leak will do to True Corp !!!

Just following a President's example?

Have it. Not that great. Streams are not stable.

How much does it really cost per month/per 6 months/etc.   From looking at their website they show various packages, like Bt6150 for 3 monts which works out to Bt2,050/month and Bt8400 for 6 months which works out to Bt1400/month.   Hopefully they have monthly packages (probably at a higher price) and I just didn't see them listed on their website.

UK Basic + Premium Package (3 months)

UK Basic + Premium Package (6 months)

Edit:  Never mind...the more I looked the more package prices I found like the Bt200/month plan mentioned by Thian....but the channels selection is very minimal on this plan.   Seems they have computer accounts and Android boxes accounts with different prices.  Need to spend more time on reviewing their various plans, what the differenent is between a computer account and Android box account, etc.   But on quick review it looks like  you may need to go with a basic+premium account statring at Bt750/month to get a good slection of channels.  So many packages to review.

I don't think the bog standard flash player IlikeHD use helps matters.

The likes of ThaiExpatTv, PremiumExpatTV and 365sportTV all have their own bespoke player, which makes it more stable. Occasionally buffers, their customer service sucks, constantly saying it's my internet, yet had engineer round and no issues. Get same issues on other internet, other than my own. But they are still better than paying rip off monopoly giants TRUE!

For 200 Baht with Ilikehd you get only the channels that are also available in the free Kodi addons like Filmon and which always work in the free addons.

If you want a reliable stream, get yourself a playlist for 120 Euro a year.

It has a total of 1500 WORKING channels of which +100 UK and a similar number of German, French, Netherlands channels, the majority of them in HD.

It also has Belgian,  Spanish, Turkish, Serbian and Italian channels all including the major sports streams.

There used to be 2 Nat Geo channels, one in SD and one in HD.  They dropped the SD feed.

Maybe that's because

True Visions plans to drop

and

True Visions is seeking for approval by the broadcasting panel which will take this matter into consideration next Monday.

Soon, their Platinum service won't be worth 300B monthly.

Maybe, it is because the channels don't interest the Chinese, and they couldn't give a toss about expats.

I signed up for platinum before Xmas & now they take all the channels away & give you bloody repeats, repeats, REPEATS

Typical of these companies

No. The Thai education system is the soaps. You know that.

Said to one of those execs 10 or so years ago "when the typical Thai kid watches typical Thai television, their IQ goes down".

Seems they finally heard me, and they thought it's a good idea?

If you live in the Bangkok area and are interested in getting unlimited access to On-Demand TV series / Movies etc as well as live TV channels worldwide (plus sports) then feel free to PM me for more information.

This is for Macs or Windows PCs/laptops which you just connect to your TV via HDMI (or of course just watch from your laptop). It does not involve paying out for an Android box which can be around 5,000 THB.

There was a thread on the Phuket forum a while ago about AIS offering fibre optic internet access to 'remote' Phuket areas - and I finally got round to 'phoning them at the beginning of this year.  Only to be told, it wasn't yet available where I live .

Sorry to hear that dick dasterdly! I think 3bb are also doing a 1200 baht 5g fibre package. Check online.

and THIS + repeats and other nonsense is why I'm saying a 'GOODBYE'  to True after many years and I hope many thousands of others do the same.

Monopolies get lazy, fat and rich and deserve a kick in the goolies.

Dropped them over a year ago and never looked back. I'm doing very well with a basic cable package and Netflix.

Very true (no pun intended) what you say about monopolies. Proof is in the sat tv, beer, financial services (etc, etc, etc) on offer in Thailand. All the services and goods protected from outside competition are of inferior quality.
