Cabinet give green light to budget to develop rural areas

 

BANGKOK, 1 February 2017 (NNT) - The Cabinet have approved more than 63 billion baht for groups of provinces for next year. The budget will be used to develop the rural areas. 

Assistant to the PM's Office Minister Kobsak Phutrakul said the Cabinet on Tuesday approved plans for the development of 76 provinces and 18 groups of provinces for the years 2018 - 2021. The 63.6 billion-baht budget would be spent on rural development in accordance with the country's 20-year strategies and the 12th National Economic and Social Development Plan, said Mr. Kobsak. 

The budget for rural development was increased from 25 billion baht to 63.6 billion baht. 

The governor of each province will conclude urgent and community-centered projects before submitting them to the Bureau of the Budget for budget allocation. All of the projects are expected to be finalized within March this year.
