Democracy advocates urged to join protest against media restriction bill

 

 

BANGKOK: -- Members of the media and democracy advocates were urged to join media organizations in their protest against a media restriction bill by changing the backgrounds of their Facebook pages and Twitter with logo of the Thai Journalists Association starting on Thursday.

 

TJA vice president Paramet Lekpetch said Wednesday that the change of the backgrounds were just a measure which will be followed by more measures to voice the media organizations’ opposition to the bill that, among other things, seeks to rein in the media by making in mandatory for media personalities to apply for a license from the state in order to do their job.

Without a free press this country can never ever step into democracy as we all know: if a government has to hide all about their work and acting and planning and the press only shoult report as the speaker of the government....there is something very foul going on!!!!!!

Read the article. Once you have a big T painted on your back your in their closed system. Closed means to you and everybody else except them.
