Separatist Site Blocked By Thai Isp's

WEBSITE BAN: ICT tells Internet providers to deny access to separatist site

The Information and Communication Technology Ministry has ordered all Internet service providers in Thailand to block access to a Muslim separatist website, an adviser to the ministry said yesterday.

Wutthipong Pongsuwan, an adviser to Minister Surapong Suebwonglee, said ISPs in Thailand had been ordered to block access to the website of the Pattani United Liberation Organisation (www.pulo.org).

He said separatist websites were one of six kinds of sites that Thai ISPs must block. He said a certain ISP earlier had failed to block the Pulo site, so it was warned in a letter to comply with the law.

Yes, they treat it like a porn-site, I just got a 403:

Forbidden

You were denied access because:

Access denied by access control list.

no worries to get there from here, the text appears thai, wife isn't home so cant ask her to translate.

I still believe in reading what I want:

Among other things, they have this to say:

Bendera Negara Melayu Patani Raya

Message from BERSATU

WARNING

DEAR PEOPLE OF THE WORLD,

Due to the political unstability, persons who plan to visit Thailand NOW are adviced not to travel to Patani Raya Region, (Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Satun, Songkhla) and the neighbour provinces (Phuket, Pangnga, Krabi, Pattalung).

And there is much more in Thai, but I won't post it all here...

Yes thanks again, got the text. Same here, have problem to understand all the Thai. The rest seems to be Malay?

This seems to be something of a red herring. ISPs were told to block the PULO site a long time ago. It's the NEW list the govt doesn't want you to know about. Try getting to manusaya.netfirms.com, thaisanti.tripod.com or other separist-related sites from within Thailand.
