The last post here about the Thai consulate in Langkawi was from a while ago, so I was wondering whether there is any news regarding the services they offer.

Thai Air Asia is starting direct flights from Bangkok to Langkawi on 6 January, which would make the island another option to do a visa run.

I am thinking of going there somewhere mid-January to apply for a new tourist visa.

Does anyone have more info on this consulate, or maybe contact details? Hard to find info via search engines.

People post questions about this consular office periodically, but I don't recall ever seeing a response that offered any actual information as to its offerings. Must be a really small operation, assuming that it even actually exists. :o

Anybody try Langkawi?

Feedback would be great. Thanks.

They don't issue visas to Non-Malaysians, they are basically only serving the Thai community living in northern Malaysia. Do a forum search for Langkawi in this forum, and you will find a recent thread about it. No luck in Langkawi!
