Non O Marriage Visa - Obtaining Work Permit

Featured Replies

I've had a good look around the TV forum as well as Thai Embassy website in UK but am unable to confirm under what circumstances a non Thai, who is married to a Thai and moves to Thailand to live, is able to obtain a work permit.  Grateful for advice from anyone who has achieved such a feat on how it all works, any restrictions etc.  Thanks in advance, John Z

You can obtain work permit with Non-O based on marriage as you would with a Non-B, just need the required documents from the company as required by the Labour Department.

thanks LJ

will there be any restrictions as to what work will be permissible?  for example, working as a teacher at a recognised school versus working as a private tutor, versus being a self employed financial adviser?

thanks LJ

No restrictions between non-O and non-B.
Just normal requirements like a Collage degree, if you wish to teach in Thailand, try posting in the teaching Sub-forum.

Thanks guys.  All clear now.  If anyone else is looking for more info, I found the following archived thread which is quite useful.
