Advice Required Re: Obtaining a Visa. One Page Remaining on Passport.

Featured Replies

I would be grateful for any advice the learned members might provide on the following circumstances:

1. I have one full page remaining on my passport;

2. There are several pages that are either half-three quarters filled;

3. I need to exit Thailand in a few days and apply for a new visa;

4. I am concerned as to whether or not I have sufficient space available for the new visa;

5. I understand many countries in the region have especially large stamps that will devour a page;

6. I should like a recommendation as to which country (nearby) has a small stamp that will not consume too much space in an already cramped passport; and

7. also looks kindly on issuing visas.

My intention is to return to Thailand and apply for a new passport, however I have insufficient time to process and receive a new document before my current visa expires.

Thank you.

Malaysia only requires a entry stamp. You could get a tourist visa in Penang.

You could also get a e-visa for Cambodia and get a visa in Phnom Penh.

Hong Kong prints out your entry and would not use any space in your passport.

Thank you ubonjoe for your prompt and cogent reply.

Any recommendations on:

1. The type of visa that should be sought; and

2. of your three suggestions, which location is the most "friendly"?

Thank you.

You would apply for a single entry tourist visa which will be free until the 28th of this month.

Penang would be the best out of the 3.

u can also go to Yangon,  get ur evisa online  ( $50)  Cambodia  ( $40) no full page stamp

thai visa takes full page, one day in Burma  1-3 days in Phnom Pehn.

Thank you ubonjoe and phuketrichard for your helpful advice.

What is the turn-around time for processing the SETV in Penang? Does anyone have an agency recommendation that can facilitate an expedited application?

Thank you.

You apply the morning of one day and pickup your passport the next afternoon. There is no way to get it sooner than that.

Agents can do the application for you in Penang.

At the time it ends on the 28th of this month. There was a proposal to extend it for 3 months but I have seen nothing in the news about it being approved by  the cabinet.
