TCEB to promote MICE industry

BANGKOK, 7 February 2017 (NNT) - The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) is planning to implement four campaigns to promote Thailand’s MICE industry this year.

TCEB Director Nopparat Methaveekulchai said MICE is a key driver behind Thailand’s economic growth. Short for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions, MICE is a type of tourism that promotes business meetings and exhibitions at tourist destinations.

TCEB is initiating four campaigns to ensure that the MICE industry continues to expand. One of the campaigns seeks to encourage organizations and companies to hold meetings in five MICE cities and at other locations within 300 kilometers of Bangkok.

In addition to the five existing cities, Nan has been selected for its potential in terms of accommodations and basic infrastructure. The province is also famous for its culture, traditions, and national parks.

Other campaigns promote MICE activities at royal project development centers and in special economic zones. Information related to the venues and facilities can be found at www.dmiceplanner.com. The website serves as an effective online tool for TCEB to market domestic MICE destinations regionally and around the world.
