Thank you for posting this, sikishrory.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

If for ALL visas that would mean you have to show a ticket booked 89 days in the future for a Multi O or B.

I think it is only for tourist visas. Savannakhet started asking for tickets out and financial proof for tourist visas but for other types they do not require them.

Like Jim Tachinamurthy  wright in the Thai Ambassade in Penang (Wrong Jim) ? They don`t have Ambassade they have Consulate. And I have not se anything about this in the Thai Consulates webside in Penang.

The rule has always been there. They have decided like others to implement them.

Anyone knows if they will accept 90-days on-ward flight ticket for 60-days tourist visa?

This has been the case for at least 6 months.

A mate went to get a TV because the school didn't have time to prepare papers for a B, unaware of this ticket rule. Banana sent him to another agency who will do some brown envelope manouver for 1000-1500B .. load of old balls from the consulate and agencies as has been tha case for many years.

How about a bus ticket if leaving overland?

I'm due to got for a Non O next week, he didn't say anything about this and I also don't see that post on his facebook page. Sounds most likely to be for Tourist visas (?) but sent him a message and am waiting a reply.

Confirmed with Jim just now on the phone, this is TOURIST VISA ONLY

I used to do my Spousal visa in Penang , was pretty easy. Did the last Spousal in London and the bird at the window didnt look at any of my paper work and just took the 125 quid.Picked up  at 930 am next day pick up time is 11am  I think

1 Does the confirmed ticket mean the one you used to get there otherwise its going to be difficult

Not sure whether this is appropriate to this post but my passport was checked for a 60 day tourist visa by Air Canada in Calgary Jan 11, 2017 before allowing me on flight that had a return longer than 30 days. Thank you to Ubon Joe for previous clarifications.

It's an inward ticket that says you are going to leave the country when your visa is up .. its standard practice these days at most consulates isn't it ? Nothing really too much to worry about.

if you have a visa agency with a Facebook page you need to post the odd thing every now and again to maintain a presence.

In my experience the closer you get to Thailand the less likely it is the airline is going to care about evidence of return tickets or onward travel. I've never been challenged in Singapore, KL or Siem Reap, for example

Does KL do spousal renewal ? Singapore does but "Surprisingly"stringent with the documents

Not sure what a spousal renewal is. Do you mean new non-o visa based upon marriage?

Kl will only do a single entry visa and want to see 400k baht in the bank to get it.

non immigrant   O

If you are on your first 90 day run, you are highly unlikely to have a confirmed ticket for 9 months time, People re-new there non immigant o and stay for years. It must be for tourist visas only otherwise you'll be flying 4 times a year at least

I went to Jim's to get my nonO,showed him my income letter from my Embassy and he said I wouldn't qualify. Went to the consulate and got it without any problems.

Always best do it yourself, you get little extra benefit from using agents besides poor advice and chances of never seeing your passport again. anyone with half a brain a computer or smartphone and a pen is far better using their own gumption and diligence and sorting these matters directly.  You get pi55 poor service from almost all visa agents within asia and that in terms of their knowledge and arrangements they provide . You save money, get your visas far easier and gain accurate knowledge of the process which makes you more competent and visas less of an issue .

on jan 30, 2017 i was asked for a visa or ticket out of thailand when i checked into my manila-bangkok flight on thai airways.  i was a bit surprised as i haven't been asked in hong kong and saigon in the past.  i didn't have a visa.  i happened to have a trip to hong booked already (for feb 11, 2017 dep) and had evidence of that ticket with me.  now i'm in hong kong with a return to thailand on feb 28 but do not have a ticket out of thailand so i think i'm going to have to buy one just to be safe (or get a visa while i'm here in HK).

Birth certificate? Is this for a non o based on marriage?

Studio_20170216_132044.jpg

Years ago if you flew business it was about half the price to book from the Thai end. So if the airlines saw you traveling on a one way ticket to Thailand they would know what you are up to and ask to see a visa. Now the price is just about the same no matter where you book so they don't ask anymore.

No only if applying for a non-o based upon being the parent of Thai. It would be the child's birth certificate.

You only need your marriage certificate.
