MOSCOW (Reuters) - A senior Russian lawmaker said on Tuesday the resignation of U.S. President Donald Trump's national security adviser, Michael Flynn, suggested Trump had been backed into a corner or that his administration had been "infected" by anti-Russian feeling.

Flynn resigned late on Monday after revelations he had discussed U.S. sanctions on Russia with the Russian ambassador to the United States before Trump took office and misled Vice President Mike Pence about the conversations.

"Either Trump has not gained the requisite independence and he is consequently being not unsuccessfully backed into a corner, or Russophobia has already infected the new administration also from top to bottom," MP Konstantin Kosachev was cited as saying by the RIA Novosti news agency.

Kosachev is head of the upper house of parliament's international affairs committee.

Why would anyone in the US be interested in hearing a Russian lawmakers opinion on this, and why would any western media give them exposure time. The Russians have proven now that it is impossible to trust them.

And by the looks of it Trump and his lying administration likewise can not be trusted

Good luck with that, Trump!  Both are great goals, but I doubt he can achieve both of them.  Hopefully, he can.

These things sure don't help:

wrong!.......it was the west's actions in bouncing up against its borders in the ukraine.

Right. Invasions in Georgia.  Moldova. And Ukraine had nothing to do with it. LOL

Do some research on what the Baltics are doing now to protect themselves.  Memories are long and their treatment under the hands of Russia was horrible.  To put it mildly.

The Georgia conflict was because it was looking to join NATO.......again the west was looking to bounce up against russia's borders.

Maybe this time the west will learn.........you provoke, you lose territory.

So if Kazakhstan, for example, was to consider a closer relation with Russia.  It'd be ok for another nation to invade them and take over part of their territory and kill innocent civilians in the process? Really? LOL

Khrushchev tried that with Cuba in 1962 and got his ass whipped.

It is about time that Russia learned that its 'near abroad' does not actually belong to them.

Fortunately the media and clear thinking people are intervening to prevent Russian adventurism as a result of the complete ignorance of 45 and his clown car administration.

Just stated today that Russia will not return Crimea.  Period.  So, chew on that DT.  Russian military aircraft also endangered US forces in the Black Sea again.  Russian spy ship off the coast of Delaware...

The list goes on.  Let's see what happens

Hey Redline their new at this governing thing they will eventually get the "wrinkles" worked out. They are experimenting with different wrinkle removers on Kelly Anne Conway. She wanders into the Ivanka Trump sales camp from time to time.
