Net idol ‘Mayple’ turning herself in Wednesday afternoon at the Technology Crime Suppression Division.

BANGKOK — A net idol was charged Wednesday afternoon for stripping naked in a Facebook livestream tuned into by hundreds of thousands of viewers and shared throughout the online kingdom.

The woman, identified only as “Mayple” by police, was fined for appearing in a roughly 30-minute video on Feb. 6 in which she stripped and danced provocatively. She was charged with violating the Computer Crime Act and fined 500 baht for distributing and profiting from indecent material.

By the look on his face he is looking forward to the crime reenactment in the privacy of the cop shop with some of his fellow officers.

Taking down the evidence doesn't get much better.

Fantastic! Now Thailand own both Facebook and Internet, and can fine anybody that do something there. Little bit strange. It´s her body. It´s her choice to show what she want. It´s everybodys choice to look or not. If she defamed or publicly shamed anybody else, then there is only a civil lawsuit that can be applied. How can she get fined by the police? Intelligence as it´s best, once again!

'Net Idol'= 'legend in her own mind'.

ridiculous !

Strip naked on FB live, show up at the station wearing dark shades....anonymity protected. :coffee1:

Or maybe just a bad hang over from the previous late night party.

Is this exclusive to Facebook or doing it live? What about sex tapes and Thai porn stars?

I will let the people in power into a little secret. If you think Thailand is the bastion of decency and morality, don't ask the outside world what they think. Most of the outside world talks freely about what goes on in their own countries and others.  You'd be in for a shock. Thailand, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, etc, are a dying breed. This is a world of social media and open information. You might not talk about it openly but others do.

Geez it's her life, let her live it.  Who was she hurting?

change name to Thai Arabia

"...tuned into by hundreds of thousands of viewers..."

Now it makes sense. I was wondering why I didn't see any cops on Feb. 6th. They must have been "gathering evidence".

Looked at the photo

Classic

The slim policewoman on the left in the background with the flower shoes and the crispy jeans pants;
I find her more attractive than the net idol with the tattoo on her arm.

500 baht, that most be the cheapest advertisement ever.

"She apologized for damaging the image of Thai women" what's that? .paid for doing something sexual? hahah you couldn't make up this stuff !!

I suppose that not many people have noticed the tattoo on her left arm in the photo of the OP is on her right arm in the video? Couldn't see any on her left arm at all in the vid.

Still, could be a transfer tat. Or her sister in the video??

Who knows??

<deleted> double standards.

She'll love all her new followers from this article. 500 baht is great price to pay in her line of work for the exposure she has now..

I actually wasted time looking at the UTube clip and saw that the headline is a lie. A rather pathetic performance in actual fact.

I didn't even waste my time looking knowing that the headline is more than likely a crock......

Have these clown-cops been to one of the thousands of so called girly bars lately?

but with hundreds of thousands of viewers? maybe not just in her own mind.

I've seen better looking girls on Beach Road.

Just looking at her face, I don't even want to see the "evidence".
