BANGKOK: -- THE DEPARTMENT of Special Investigation (DSI) has not decided when to raid Dhammakaya Temple to arrest its controversial honorary abbot despite unconfirmed reports that an operation was imminent.

“When we are ready, we will tell you,” DSI chief Pol Colonel Paisit Wongmuang said yesterday.

The temple’s honorary abbot, Phra Dhammachayo, whose name has been linked to several scandals is now wanted on money-laundering charges related to the notorious embezzlement case involving the Klongchan Credit Union Cooperative. Ongoing investigations have suggested a network connected to the monk had received more than Bt1 billion from the cooperative.

“All other suspects in the case have already acknowledged the charges,” DSI chief Pol Colonel Paisit Wongmuang said yesterday.

DSI deny raid imminent, where have we read that before?

Maybe by ,making statements like that, they expect Dhammachyao to come out and say   !! ok boys i give up !!  :cheesy:

I read somewhere else that they're ready to pounce at any moment, but no one will know when. It's a genius plan.

“When we are ready, we will tell you,” DSI chief Pol Colonel Paisit Wongmuang said yesterday'

Will you be telling us before or after you raid? Will you also be walking up to the front gate with a warrant and then returning with your tail between your legs when you see some elderly Thai followers of the mad monk looking irate?

Anywho, we're all just waiting here on the edge of our seats. I think the guy sat next to me is dead.

Childish cat and mouse games, where the rule of the state should be respected

and obeyed, we have powerful law enforcement agencies and a mega religious

cult going at each other like Tom and Jerry cartons....

........any comment would be superfluous!

It's just been on channel 7 news. Big police presence. Looks like a raid attempt to me.

I think it would be foolish of the DSI not to announce in advance the time/date of any raid. Failure to do so could lead to the abbot being arrested, it's pretty clear nobody wants that to happen.

This appears to be a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing regarding these statements/reports

How long has it been now?

That's a fine twist to the common procedure informing culprits about their arrest in advance to make sure they are at home. Now they even tell them when to sleep longer and go on with their daily routine without being bothered. Can it ever get weirder?

Good to see the DSI are on top of the situation and being kept fully informed of developments, even us on TV know more about what's happening than the DSI .............................................:cheesy:

However, if he should happen to commit a major crime, such as daring to visit a short time hotel, he's busted.

This story would make millions on comedy TV.

This guy draws a bigger crowd than a 3 ring circus. I am would not doubt he has come and gone many times during this fiasco. I would think this bird has definitely flown the spaceship.

Pathetic
