Watch out for fake lottery tickets - if you win you'll get nothing!

NAKHON PATHOM: -- The National lottery office has warned the Thai public to check lottery tickets carefully after a case of fake tickets was discovered in Nakorn Pathom.

 

Chalongrat Narkathit said that the case in Nakorn Chaisri district was a big one. It was the first time that a vendor's whole stack of tickets was fake.

 

The vendor said that they were bought for 74 baht each but the lottery office are disputing the claims as an investigation is underway.

 

They have found a total of 693 fake pairs of tickets and several are believed to have been sold over the last few days to members of the public.

 

Chalongrat said that the public should check their tickets carefully. If they were sold in plastic cases they should be taken out and examined in detail.

 

The fake tickets do not have a watermark and use ink that is soluble in water. They are printed on paper that is thicker than the real thing and it is more easy to tear the fakes.

 

He added that anyone winning a prize with the fakes would get nothing.

Easier to go on line and get lottery tickets from your home county. Bigger pay out . Deducted straight from your bank account and play the numbers you want each week.

Does that mean the whole stack of tickets that are in my authentic Gucci bag, which I purchased at the weekend market for 900 baht, are not real?
