Marriage certificate, visa exempt

Featured Replies

I heard I can get a 60 day extension. I have a thai marriage certificate, what else must I bring to immigration to get the extension? Must the wife come?

From Police order 138/2557

2.24 In the case of visiting a spouse or children who are of Thai nationality:
Each permission shall be granted for no more than 60 days.

1. Application form.
2. Copy of applicant’s passport.
3. Copy of household registration certificate.
4. Copy of national ID card of the person having Thai nationality.
5. Copy of a marriage certificate or copy of a birth certificate.

Yes, bring wife.

In addition to the above you might be asked for a TM.30 form. It's the notification of a foreigner (you) living at the address you're staying at.

I suggest taking the original marriage certificate with you in case they want to see it.

It does seem to differ in every place hoho (although PoorSucker has put the official  request) it may help if you put where you are applying --you will get feed some back from people in that area, They do seem to be a law unto themselves.

Just came back from ratchaburi immigration. No need for originals. In and out in 5 mins.

Can i apply at any immigration in another district, or is this extension  -Marriage 60day - only allowed in the district, compare with the adress of tabien ban. We are travelling around now and i think to extend. Thanks in advance for ur answers.

You can apply at any immigration office but you will need proof of residence for the location where you apply for it. It does not have to be applied for where your wife's house book is for.

Thanks Ubonon JOE.   So if the hotel will register our stay at immi, i can apply without problems.  Good to know.
