Single detached house at Grand Bangkok Boulevard -Sukhumvit by SC Asset Corporation Plc that designs to serve with aging family member. For example, the shock absorption floor, eldercare solution, and etc.

BANGKOK: -- RESIDENTIAL DESIGN that serves the needs of an increasingly ageing society is seen as an important and growing trend for developers in the years ahead, as nearly one-third of the Thai population will be over 60 by 2031, according to the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Board.

The impact of such demographic change will be felt widely, not least in terms of the residential needs of a steadily growing number of older people.

“We will see most property firms developing their residential projects with due concern for ageing family members, and designing homes that cater to such people is a major trend for developers over the next decade,” Kanda Property chief executive officer Issara Boonyoung said.

Housing will need to be both functional for the elderly, as well as using construction materials that match their lifestyle, he said.

Just what the poor and elderly in the country really need in their own age.  Of course and the multi million baht savings and retirement income to pay for it.  Another example of the elitist hisos and their useless undereducated bunch of recently graduated relatives who have little understanding of the real needs of this country"s population , only their own self interest groups.

they should hammer reminding older folks... and explaining it somehow.. about reverse mortgages.... which they have now, right?

younger folks won't clue them in or encourage them... but it makes a lot of sense for everyone.  use that money tied up in real estate that is not going to appreciate anymore (demographics, economics)... and will be in increasingly taxed.. no matter what anyone says. some older folks have quite a bit of land... but hardly any money at all... even a little bit of cash could make their lives more enjoyable while still here.  even if prior generations always passed things along... the world really is changing. demographics rules all markets. always.

I'm sure the elderly farm workers in the northeast are jumping for joy over the prospect of having housing that is functional and at the same time, meets their needs....Except for one glaring need...AFFORDABLE housing and services.

I am sure these will sell like hotcakes to the seniors in Issan. Shock absorbing floors WOW I think a couple hundred baht increase in pensions would serve a lot better. Your trying to sell a Cadillac car to Chevrolet buyers.
