I asked about any changes from last year in this year's application when I did my 90 day report a few weeks ago, as I usually do every year.  I was told, "No changes, everything same".  However, this week, I rolled up with the usual paperwork, only for it to be rejected.  Now, it is compulsory to have a friend accompany me and my wife to the immigration office, to confirm that we do actually live together as husband and wife.  Furthermore, I was asked to produce a picture of myself, my wife and our friend together at the house.  My first extension of this kind included a friend to do just the same, although no picture required, but every year after that, not needed, until this year.  The reason is because of all the sham marriages where husband and wife don't live together; it seems we are all to pay the penalty for that one, and the same will be required every year from now on.  A friend of mine has also recently renewed his spousal  extension, and had to hand-draw the location map instead of providing a printed copy.

Updated document requirements below (Two of everything):

TM7

*Passport copy - Picture page and all pages with information

*Tm6

*Marriage Certificate - Kor Ror 3

Marriage Registration - Kor Ror 2 (I usually supply 2 x originals, but 1x copy probably OK)

*Wife's ID Card

*Wife's Housebook

Bank Letter (Original and 1 x copy, dated the day before application)

*Bank Book (2 x Copies of pages showing required amount allowing for the seasoning)

Photos (1 x with husband and wife showing house number, plus a couple together inside the house)

( 1 x husband, wife and friend at house)

House location map

Friend - The friend needs to have in her/his possession: housebook, with two copies of the relevant pages and ID card, with two copies (Back and Front).

1,900 Baht

* = Take original documents with you.

Hope the above information is of some help.  However, immigration regulations change like the wind, so always best to ask shortly before application date, although if you ask three different people, you may get three different answers.

Good luck
