60 day visa to travel to Thailand from India?

Featured Replies

Hi!  Sorry if this is a re-hash, but I need to find out for a friend, I could not find it here.  He is in India, and will be in Delhi, he needs to know, he is a Canadian, if he can get a 60 day tourist visa there?  I looked on their site in India, but it is not really informative.  Also, what would the process be, what visa is he looking for, and what would it cost?  Thanks for any help!

Generally, Thai visa applications in India are processed via VFS (see http://www.vfs-thailand.co.in/). However, some large travel agents in India are able to handle visas for you, and this will probably be easier.

Generally tourist visa cost is waived until August.

If the friend just intends to stay up to 60 days he can enter Thailand visa exempt and get a 30 day stamp (as a Canadian citizen).

About a week before expiry he can get an extension for another 30 days at the Thai immigration office in the region where he stays (1900 Baht).

Only pitfall might be the airline, some of which want to see proof of onward travel within 30 days.

Ok, thanks guys.  I think the 30 and 30 might work out the best, probably cheaper too once you start working in the outside interests taking care of your interests.
