Dubai carrier Emirates has announced plans to begin flying to Cambodia’s most populated city Phnom Penh later this year.

The airline will launch flights from July 1, subject to government approval, using a Boeing 777-300ER in a two class configuration.

The route will be launched alongside a direct non-stop service between Dubai and Hanoi, with the flight having previously stopped in Myanmar’s Yangon.

Instead the service to Phnom Penh will now stop in Yangon, with Emirates claiming to be the only airline to fly directly between the two cities.

EK388 will leave Dubai at 9:15am and land in Yangon at 5:25pm before departing at 6:55pm and arriving in Phnom Penh at 9:25pm.

Return journey EK389 will depart Phnom Penh at 11:10pm and arrive in Dubai at 5:40am with a short stop in Yangon.

Emirate’s announcement comes following the expansion of the passenger terminal at Phnom Penh Airport last year, effectively doubling capacity.

The city is considered a key access point for Cambodia’s World Heritage site Angkor Wat, near Siem Reap.

Cambodia is forecast to receive 8 million foreign tourist arrivals in 2020 from 4.7 million in 2015.

Earlier this month, Emirates announced it would be removing seafood meal options from its economy class menu following an internal review.

south in a hurry. :coffee1:

They already do so since quite some time, yet there r still a few tourists that want to actually visit Thailand as you can see every day from 00.01 hrs to 23.59 hrs at both Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang
