BANGKOK: -- The deputy prime minister in charge of legal affairs made it clear yesterday that any attempt to obstruct the authorities to search the Dhammakaya temple was a defiance of the law and violators will face legal action.

Warning of legal action by the deputy prime minister Visanu Krua-ngam came after defiance monks and followers still disallowed authorities from the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) to search two remaining zones where they suspect the stubborn former abbot, Phra Dhammachayo, might be be still hiding.

The defiant monks and followers were forming human barricades confronting DSI authorities and police to move in.

Dr Visanu reiterated that any action by Dhammakaya followers, to obstruct the search  is considered against the  law.

So is Deputy Prime Minister Visanu Krua-ngam intending to sue the monks and strip them of their assets. This circus is moving into another higher level stage of "crazy".

Given the amount of "readies " and "easily converted" items we're led to believe are in this place, and in the possession of this sect, I shouldn't be surprised if "asset seizure " doesn't play a part.

All transparently managed of course...

'Dr Visanu reiterated that any action by Dhammakaya followers, to obstruct the search  is considered against the  law.'

And so? AND SO? What will you do if they 'break the law'?

Will you send in the police? Oh, tried that - and failed.

Will you send in the soldiers? Oh, tried that - and failed.

There is no one else left to send in!

And the idea that anyone is 'breaking the law' in a lawless land is itself ludicrous. An illicit regime, not sanctioned by the people or recognised under international law, by definition is not morally empowered to generate any 'laws'. Hence - no one is currently breaking the (non-existent) law (except the biggest law-breakers of all, who believe that high treason is no transgression of the previously existing law at all !).
