Getting rid of fleas and ticks in the yard

Featured Replies

I really don't like using poisons - but - I also don't like the constant tick problem that our dogs have either.  Some how I'd like to try to break the cycle by killing the ticks and eggs in the yard, in addition to using medicine (Frontline, Bravecto, or Ivermectin) on the dogs.

So what retail yard products can by used (sprayed) in the fenced, yard area of our home in order to kill the ticks and their eggs that is available in Thailand.  Our dogs do not roam (we don't let them outside the fenced area) so they won't be picking up ticks from the outside.

Try chickens, they eat a lot of ticks and flees from the grass.

And Guinea Fowls are even much better with it. (an other forum member told me once)

Arjen.

My dogs like to chase and kill chickens.  Until we built a wall around the property, they'd bring home dinner for the wife to cook.  They don't go out anymore.  Unfortunately, chickens don't come in to eat the pests.  (Well, the dumber ones occasionally do fly over from next door, but at their own demise :whistling:  "Hey mom!  Can you cook this up for us dogs?" <scratch scratch scratch>)

Possums eat ticks too, but....seems to be a possum shortage where I live.
