Deadline looms for registering security firms

Private security service companies have until today to register their businesses and employees, with no time extensions allowed, police said.

 

Many companies have already done that to comply with the Security Industry Business Act 2015 that came into effect on March 4 last year.

 

Royal Thai Police (RTP) adviser General Suwira Songmetta said 70 companies in Bangkok covering 6,800 employees had registered while the nationwide figures stood at 1,500 and 183,000.

We shall see Mr Policeman, we shall see. How many times before on how many issues have we heard this "no extension" rhetoric?

 

Given that there are at least 1,430 companies still to register (by the end of today), will we see mass arrests and business closures on Monday, I think not.
