Non B to a Non O visa

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I am finishing my job next week and starting another one in May, so i will be unemployed for a small period of time.

I want to know if i can swap my Non B to a Non O visa (I am legally married to a Thai).

Ideally, i dont want to leave the country and play around on tourist visas etc.

I live in Bangkok if that is relevant.

Cheers all.

You cannot change non immigrant visa categories without going out for a new visa.

If on an extension of stay based working you could change the reason for your extension to one based upon marriage to a Thai. You would need 400k baht in a Thai bank in your name only for 2 months or proof of 40k baht income.

You could also apply for a 60 day extension to visit your wife at immigration.

I am currently on an extension of stay based on working, which is valid until end of Feb.

I can provide both the above as you have mentioned.  Does that mean i can go to Chaeng Wattana and extend my stay based on marriage?

The 60 day extension you mentioned, would that be based on marriage reasons?

Thanks

You could change the reason for your extension to one based upon marriage. You will need a letter from your employer stating the date your job ends to have your current extension canceled so that your can apply for the new extension.

You can get a work permit and work with an extension based upon marriage.

The 60 day requires requires proof you are  married but no financial proof is required.
