DPM says reconciliation effort progressing well

BANGKOK, 28 February 2017 (NNT) – The Deputy Prime Minister for Security Affairs has voiced satisfaction with the national reconciliation commission’s meetings with political parties so far, commending the parties for their cooperation.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Gen Prawit Wongsuwan has let on that the government’s reconciliation proceedings have progressed smoothly due to good cooperation from political parties which have been meeting with the reconciliation commission to express their views.

Meanwhile, the National Reform Steering Assembly (NRSA)’s committee on mass media has reviewed legislation to do with the media freedom and integrity and recommended that the industry’s national council be expanded to 15 individuals rather than the current 13.

It also narrowed the definition of a media member to a full time, paid producer, excluding non-regular columnists and article writers.

The committee has deemed that once new legislation is put into effect, media outlets will have 2 years to receive a license for their work. The committee is to present further conclusions to the main assembly again on March 6.

One thing will never change. The military are all delusional.

And some in the military more delusional than others!

Part of reconciliation would be the dismissal today, from a powerful position, of the man said to have engaged in "evil activities"?

And what criteria is used to measure reconciliation? All BS.

Simple really its the "Thainess" factor that is used...difficult perhaps for foreigners to understand but for thai people it,s a clear indication to them of their superior knowledge in the modern world

I'm sure everyone will be happy to hear that. I'm equally sure no one will give it much credence.

Be that as it may, I for one will sleep sounder tonight knowing that General Prawit believes what he says.
