New Buddhism Office chief Pongporn Parmsneh.

BANGKOK: -- An important mission of the new chief of the National Office of Buddhism is to turn the scandal-hit Dhammakaya Temple into an ordinary temple like others, according to observers.

Pongporn Parmsneh, formerly director of the Department of Special Investigation’s Bureau of Taxation Crime, is expected to first make sure that all monks and novices inside the vast monastery in Pathum Thani, as well as those gathering at a market adjacent to the temple, are properly ordained.

Authorities from the Buddhism Office will request the monks to produce their monastic identification cards known as “bai sutthi”.

Senior monks responsible for managing the Dhammakaya Temple will need to report themselves to authorities on an order by the ruling monastic council. Those who fail to comply with the order risk being disrobed.

This is painting a very clear picture of The Establishment.

See. Nothing to do with the credit union. They want the temple to be the same as everyone else. Doesn't surprise me there's a brother of a friend of and so on. Not only must the elite keep the poor at bay, they have the added burden of keeping the elite that they don't agree with  at bay also.

"Nothing to do ....."  it has everything to do with protecting a criminal from prosecution by the law and making billions by a fraud religion that makes followers to commit suicide

and btw the followers are members of the elite not of the poor

So all the other religions live in poverty in your mind.

There are many very rich temples all over thailand.

All religions are magnets to money. Nothing fraud about it. People like donating money to religion. I don't understand why. It is what it is.

That man was not a temple follower. He was very heavily in debt. I guess he wanted his death to have some impact. But that's not the reason he killed himself. Perhaps he had lost his business, as have many in the last few years.

Stop twisting the story with lies.

I am neither saying other religions are living in poverty, nor is it ok for Dahammakay to exploit their followers because other "religions" do so.

Regarding the suicide victim:
I wrote that sentence because this is what it  looks like. I am not aware that your story is true or just dreamed up by you in order to claim I was lying.

Anyway - if you can prove your story I will stand corrected.
If you cannot the moderaters should delete your post for lying and being rude and aggressive. Even if true - your wording is inappropriate and should not be tolerated in this forum.

People say stop lying to me all the time. Similar to your analogy that it's ok for other religions but not ok for this one. In another news report that interviewed the wife and son she said he was not a follower of that temple. She said he was hundreds of thousands of baht debt and had been struggling lately. In another front page report the temple and the dsi said he was not a follower. We are not allowed to link to that paper. In my opinion you twisted the story to suit yourself. I'm entitled to my opinion, this is a public forum.

" can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen "

"ordinary temple"  hahhahahaah no hahahahahahahaahaha................yeah that regularly  all over Thailand milks  the local  gullible  community with black magic  , good  luck, blessings etc...............crock of <deleted> the lot of it nothing more than a money making self serving  bunch of P****S

Im trying to be kind too

I am not saying it is ok for other religions to be rich. I am still not convinced by your explanation. No links and no quote.
People tell you stop lying all the time does not entitle you to call me a liar. It is still rude. May be I erred (which is still not proven) but I did not ly.

May be there is a reason why they do so?

Latest news from the temple. Just checking twitter and saw this. That's two people who have died since the siege began. This time it was a delay in getting medical treatment due to the police guarding the gate.

If she is strongly dependent on an inhaler (life or death situation), why didn't she have an inhaler and even a spare in her bag?

Further, given the current situation at the temple and if she is strongly dependent on the  inhaler (life or death situation), and surely this nurse knows this is complex and volatile situation, therefore why didn't she have an inhaler / a spare in her bag?

We hear there are doctors and nurses and a modern medical clinic inside this temple and they have been supposedly treating the serious illnesses of the rouge monk (and others) and it seems they have the necessary equipment to do it (they have a very expensive oxygen chamber, therefore it seems logical they have plenty of modern equipment) and I would expect these doctors have taken the Hippocratic oath. Meaning that their knowledge and expertise and available medical supplies and equipment would be / should be available to anybody in an emergency.

Imagine a situation where a very big donor get's very sick on site, would the temple doctors refuse to administer medical treatment?

If they did not have an inhaler in their stock (seems doubtful), surely the doctor(s) could have / should have quickly given some other medication or other treatment to save her life?  If she didn't go quickly to the clinic or if other staff didn't quickly take her to the clinic then If seems possible there is dereliction of duty involved here.

I'm not dependent on an inhaler but I do sometimes do use an inhaler - I always carry one in my bag, and I always check it's not near empty just in case and I've heard many many others say the same.

I wonder if this just another beat up to try to paint a scenario that the RTP, the military etc., caused her death.

I'm not convinced.

The mission was clearly spelt out. Bringing back to the fold so the establishment can control and dominate with the new Sangha Sumpreme Council chief. It is all very military type thinking to eliminate all form of threats.

nor am I. Looks like a fabricated story to have something to blame the government.

Why not blame the fugitive criminal monk who is the root cause of all evil that is happening there?

Why was she not taken to the hospital?

Why did she go there - when she had such a critical health issue? Irresponsibile.

I feel sorry for her - but it was her own reponsibility and even more that of the criminal monk. Hope they get him soon

It might not have been asthma.

It might have been an anaphylactic episode, which is much more serious and cannot be planned for.

Totally agree with both of you, they seem to be very versed in psychological warfare by using social media...

With that been said, the 44 been on, the PM that is probably not going to want to lose face, the religion involved.... Smells like total crisis nit noi... :shock1:

Wonder how they are going to pull out of that mess and who will bend first....
